About Murphy’s Paw Rescue
We place our rescue dogs into loving foster homes, provide necessary vet care and begin the process of finding their forever families.
Murphy’s Paw Rescue Inc. is a foster based, non-profit 501c3 organization that has been rescuing dogs from shelters, neglectful situations and owner surrendering since 2013.
Our organization stemmed from the harsh realization that there are countless amazing dogs being euthanized and abandoned each year...but the majority of people aren't even aware of these dogs' existence, or are too scared to take a chance on a rescue dog.
Most shelters do not have the time and resources to provide in depth temperament tests, photos, videos, personal profiles and vet care to the thousands of dogs they intake a year. Our goal is to help build a bridge to this obvious gap, and to help dramatically decrease the number of dogs being unnecessarily euthanized each year.
Fosters help provide essential information about their foster dogs' personality traits, their likes/dislikes and what their ideal family would be. Our foster families are amazing!
Our Mission
Murphy’s Paw Rescue Inc. is a foster based, non-profit 501c3 organization that rescues dogs from shelters, neglectful situations and owner surrendering.
In the U.S., 1.2 million dogs are euthanized each year. Our mission is to help lower this statistic. We help dogs of all breeds, ages, background and health. Additionally, we help provide adoptable dogs (who would otherwise be euthanized) to families in search of a specific breed/age. In CT, many families purchase from pet shops supporting puppy mills. Puppy mills breed puppies for sale on an intensive basis and in inhumane conditions. Murphy’s Paw Rescue Inc. is against the raising of puppies in puppy mills.
Our mission is to provide adoptable dogs to qualified families through our relationships with shelters and sister rescue groups, therefore reducing unnecessary euthanasia of dogs each year.
Murphy’s Paw Rescue Inc. provides necessary vet care including vaccinations, spays/neuters, surgeries and other medical needs to dogs in our care. We place homeless dogs into amazing foster homes and ultimately into thoroughly screened adoptive homes.

An adoption center LIKE NO OTHER! The location would be nothing like a shelter, and would provide a beautiful, comfortable, home-like setting for foster dogs waiting for their forever homes. The location would allow us to dramatically increase the number of dogs we save each year.
